I’ve never written a travel blog on here before, but I wanted to share with you guys some moments from my Hawaii trip this winter break! We went to Hawaii last year too, but this time we went to O’ahu. We were there for around a week and spent both Christmas and New Year’s here. It was such a relaxing time getting to be at the beach 24/7, and I can’t wait to go back another time!

One of my favorite moments was a submarine experience where we got to be in a submarine and see all the different fish and turtles in the middle of the ocean. It was so cool to see so many different types of fish and even see a couple huge turtles swimming around. I will admit that I was kind of seasick towards the beginning, but I was fine for the rest of the time! Here’s an amazing picture from that day.

I also got to go to the Dole Plantation! We went on a little train ride to see all the pineapples growing, and it was incredible! There was also a huge maze, but we didn’t get to do it since it was raining. But the best part was getting Dole Whip with fresh pineapple and coconut flakes on it. It was absolutely delicious, and we made sure to get some more pineapple snacks to take back home!

We also went to Pearl Harbor, which was a beautiful day for learning more about its importance and rich history. I couldn’t believe that I got to see Pearl Harbor in person after years of learning about it in history classes.

The most stressful yet best part of the trip was going to Hanauma Bay, one of the best snorkeling spots. It was stressful because of the process of getting in. The only way you can get in is if you reserve a time slot for the day that you are planning to go on their website. The reason for this is that the bay is very well preserved to prevent the different species of fish and coral from going extinct. However, the spots run out literally in seconds. Reservations open up only at around 6-7 in the morning the day before, and we had to literally try for 3 days in a row to reserve a spot. We finally were able to successfully make a reservation, and we were there from 9 in the morning until around 2 in the afternoon. I got to see so many fish, and I loved being in the water and snorkeling all day!

We ended our trip with a New Year’s Eve dinner cruise, which was super exciting! I got to eat some amazing fresh seafood with some amazing ocean views! I loved being able to end the year with my close family and friends!

Of course, this trip wouldn’t have been complete without amazing food! I made sure to go to some of the most popular spots. I had to stop by Leonard’s Bakery for their amazing malasadas, which are basically Portuguese doughnuts! My favorite flavor had to be either the custard or the haupia (coconut). There is always a long line here, so make sure to go early to be able to try all their flavors! We couldn’t try the guava flavor since we were too late and they ran out 🙁

We also went to Ono Seafood for some amazing poke! This seriously was some of the best poke I’ve ever had. It was so fresh and delicious!

And I couldn’t forget shaved ice from Matsumoto!! I got mango and strawberry with some mochi!

Here are some more pictures of even more food I had from different local restaurants!!

I absolutely loved O’ahu, and I officially have visited two islands now (Maui and O’ahu)! I can’t wait to go to the rest of the islands and have an amazing time once again!
