How do you make a friend super special on her birthday? You host a little birthday breakfast for her. And I did just that for a close friend last year. I called three of her other good friends and my mom helped with the food.

We made it a surprise for my friend. I was in charge of setting the table, print out a cute menu, get the balloons, get flowers. So, Mom and I started the day before. We did grocery and picked everything we needed.

Firstly, we made a little cupcake birthday cake for her. It looked like a flower. We got cute floral cupcake wrappers from Amazon, and I helped Mom make her really good vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting from scratch. We used this recipe and it is a no-fail wonder. The cake was just perfect for a girl’s breakfast party.

We did a cute little waffle bar with a lot of fun toppings. And I used a little chalkboard and wrote out the words “Waffle bar” to mark the station. We had white and dark chocolate chips, raspberries and blueberries, banana, caramel sauce, fudge sauce, Nutella and of course, whipped cream. Mom made the vanilla waffles a little before everyone came, so that they were warm and nice.

We set up the table in such a way that the birthday girl felt special. I tied 6 bright pink mylar balloons to her chair. And we picked some flowers for her from the garden and made a little rustic bouquet. We also made her a watercolor birthday card.

We served the store-bought croissants and English muffins on a two-tier serving stand alongside store bought cream cheese. Mom also made savory crepes filled with cheese and spinach.

There was also potato au gratin and sausages with peppers. The sausages were store bought. And there was store bought pink lemonade. You always need a little fancy drink for girls, don’t you?

I designed the menu for my friend’s birthday breakfast and printed it out. And my friend was really happy to see that. I also got pink roses as it was an all-girls cute little breakfast party.

I took out all gold cutlery and charger plates. A little gold goes a long way when it comes to the table scape for something like this. I just used paper napkins and otherwise kept it simple. But all in all, it looked and felt really well thought and was immensely appreciated.

I just want to take this opportunity to inspire everyone to plan little cute parties or luncheons for your special ones. There is nothing more special than putting thought and effort in making someone feel good.  It’s all about creating the right ambience no matter how simple the set-up is.
