Today’s my mom’s birthday, and for the first t Today’s my mom’s birthday, and for the first time, I’m spending it away from her. I won’t be home until the end of the month, so I wanted to dedicate this post to the person who has shaped so much of who I am. ❤️ Growing up, our kitchen was one of my favorite places to be. I watched my mom cook and bake, and that’s how we bonded. She’s one of the best cooks I know and my biggest inspiration. We watched Food Network together, collected cookbooks that now overflow our shelves, and I watched her open our home to friends and family, always making more than enough food. Living in London on my own has made me appreciate those moments even more. Funny enough, being here at Le Cordon Bleu is something my mom’s talked about for years. She always told me I should go after college, and now I’m here, baking every day at one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the world. This experience is largely thanks to her. One day, I hope I can bring her here for a course. She’s also the reason Meraki-X exists. My love for baking and entrepreneurship all came from her. When I decided to fundraise for Sunday Friends, she suggested the $15,000 goal. I told her it was too much and there was no way I could do it. She never doubted me, even when I doubted myself. That goal became a reality. Behind it all were countless little moments: staying up late to help with orders, brainstorming flavors, and answering my calls whenever I was freaking out over exams. She’s always been my biggest supporter. Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve felt the pressure to follow a certain path, whether that meant consulting or tech. I’m grateful for my education and career, but deep down, my dream is to eventually build a bakery of my own and grow it across the US. As a South Asian daughter, I know that dream can sound unconventional, and I’m incredibly lucky to have parents who have always encouraged me to dream big and build a life that feels like my own. That’s one of the greatest gifts my mom’s given me. Happy birthday to my favorite person to bake with and the person who believed in my dreams long before I knew how to make them happen. I can’t wait to be home and celebrate with you. Love you! 🥰🫶

Six weeks later, I’ve officially received my Bas Six weeks later, I’ve officially received my Basic Pâtisserie certificate from Le Cordon Bleu London 🧁🎓✨ What an incredibly enriching experience this has been. Coming to London for pastry school after graduating from Berkeley gave me the chance to step outside of my comfort zone, immerse myself in something I love, and discover a new sense of independence in a city that has quickly started to feel like home. I’m so grateful for the people who made these six weeks so special. I loved getting to know my group, learning alongside everyone, and sharing countless early mornings, bakes, laughs, and memories together! 💕 And…I’ve decided I’m not quite ready to leave yet! I’ll be staying for another 6 weeks to complete the Intermediate Pâtisserie certificate, with plans to return in two years to complete Superior Pâtisserie as well. At the end of that journey, I’ll receive my Diplôme de Pâtisserie and officially become a trained pastry chef, something I’m so excited to work toward!! 🥐👩🏽‍🍳 From starting Meraki-X six years ago to graduating from Cal and now continuing my pastry journey in London, this chapter has been more meaningful than I could have imagined. Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, so I wanted to come on here, reintroduce myself, and share a few life updates ✨ I’m Shrobana! I’m 22, from the Bay Area, and I recently graduated from UC Berkeley (@ucberkeleyofficial) with degrees in Business Administration from @berkeleyhaas and Data Science from @berkeleycdss 🎓🐻 Almost 6 years ago, I started Meraki-X. What began as a blog documenting my creative pursuits during the pandemic eventually evolved into an artisanal macaron business centered around educational and technological equity. In 2020, I launched a fundraiser for Sunday Friends with the goal of raising $15,000 to provide laptops for families during the pandemic. Thanks to the support of friends, family, customers, and the broader Bay Area community, Meraki-X surpassed that goal and was able to provide more than 60 laptops to families in need ❤️ From custom birthday macarons and wedding macaron towers to corporate holiday gifts and large catering orders, I’ve been incredibly grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown Meraki-X over the years. When college started, I made the difficult decision to put Meraki-X and macaron orders on pause so I could fully immerse myself in classes, campus involvement, and everything Cal had to offer. Looking back, these past four years have been some of the most rewarding years of my life. Being surrounded by such an entrepreneurial community, especially through Haas and my social entrepreneurship courses, inspired me to dream bigger about what Meraki-X could become. And now, I’m excited to say that I’ll be back in the kitchen baking again very soon 👀 You might be wondering, why not right now? I worked at @deloitte for 5 weeks this summer. It was a learning experience like no other and I had so much fun while doing it. Today’s my mom’s birthday, and for the first t Today’s my mom’s birthday, and for the first time, I’m spending it away from her. I won’t be home until the end of the month, so I wanted to dedicate this post to the person who has shaped so much of who I am. ❤️ Growing up, our kitchen was one of my favorite places to be. I watched my mom cook and bake, and that’s how we bonded. She’s one of the best cooks I know and my biggest inspiration. We watched Food Network together, collected cookbooks that now overflow our shelves, and I watched her open our home to friends and family, always making more than enough food. Living in London on my own has made me appreciate those moments even more. Funny enough, being here at Le Cordon Bleu is something my mom’s talked about for years. She always told me I should go after college, and now I’m here, baking every day at one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the world. This experience is largely thanks to her. One day, I hope I can bring her here for a course. She’s also the reason Meraki-X exists. My love for baking and entrepreneurship all came from her. When I decided to fundraise for Sunday Friends, she suggested the $15,000 goal. I told her it was too much and there was no way I could do it. She never doubted me, even when I doubted myself. That goal became a reality. Behind it all were countless little moments: staying up late to help with orders, brainstorming flavors, and answering my calls whenever I was freaking out over exams. She’s always been my biggest supporter. Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve felt the pressure to follow a certain path, whether that meant consulting or tech. I’m grateful for my education and career, but deep down, my dream is to eventually build a bakery of my own and grow it across the US. As a South Asian daughter, I know that dream can sound unconventional, and I’m incredibly lucky to have parents who have always encouraged me to dream big and build a life that feels like my own. That’s one of the greatest gifts my mom’s given me. Happy birthday to my favorite person to bake with and the person who believed in my dreams long before I knew how to make them happen. I can’t wait to be home and celebrate with you. Love you! 🥰🫶
