Happy Easter! Nothing announces the onset of spring like Easter. I have grown up enjoying Easter all my life. I loved doing Easter egg hunts and different crafts related to Easter.

This year things are different and I kind of feel sad for the little kids. They are missing out on so much fun. Since I’ve been in high school, I have not been doing much for Easter. But this Spring Madeleine Bouquet I made yesterday totally took me back to my early childhood when I would be painting eggs with my friends.

This Spring Madeleine bouquet is as much a craft activity as it is baking. These madeleines are just perfect. It’s my mom’s recipe and this recipe makes just perfect 10 madeleines. I then stepped it up and dipped them in melted pink candy melts and sprinkles. It brought such a splash of color to our table scape.

Here’s what I did to put together the bouquet.
I took a terracotta pot and put some dry floral foam in it. I then brought some rosemary and Lavandula from our yard. Using a wooden skewer, I punched holes in the foam and inserted the Lavandula and Rosemary stems within the holes. To make easter eggs, I took a few green grapes and colored them with some edible silver color. I then dipped them in gold color sugar and stuck them in some skewers. I made the madeleines and stuck them on some bigger wooden skewers. But before that, I put some masking tape on the pointed ends of the skewer and painted them gold with gold spray paint and let them dry completely.

While putting together the Spring Madeleine bouquet, I inserted the madeleines on the foam so that they are positioned at different heights. I did this by cutting off the ends of the skewers at different lengths as needed. The green grapes ended up looking like small Easter eggs and I placed them in between the madeleines.

I also made a little sign. I took a small piece of card stock and painted it with some yellow watercolor paint. Lastly, I stamped the words “Happy Easter” on the card stock and applied some copper embossing powder to make it shine!

Keep being creative!
